We've had no word from the slower S-Type chase car in quite some time - don't know what's happening with them really. They may be dead. Alex and I just keep on keeping on - we're gonna nail this average speed nonsense if it kills us.

Tried to send something back. Might have to ring this one in, because having trouble with laptop internet connection. That or a really long text to TG home office.
Er...
Don't know what time we're at. Nothing to report. At speed. At least we've got a really quite spectacular average. God, middle America is dull - especially on the freeways.
There's just nothing to see - apart from the regular thunk and spatter of moths the size of small aeroplanes we really could be anywhere. That, and lots of fat blokes on big, fat motorbikes. Odd.
Starting to get worried about the S-Type - it seems to have disappeared. Ooh look - our reflection in the side of a truck. Yawn.
'We've had no word from the chase car ? don't know what's happening with them really. They may be dead.'

Next fuel stop. I've collapsed. Alex is going to drive. I have gone blind. At least the laptop is working.
I'm going to try and sleep. Can't be arsed to do a proper update. Sorry. Give me an hour or so, I'll fire up the computer again and send something back. If it works.

And it does. Alex gets busted for 'pulling away from a toll' aggressively. So much for my sleep.

MH calls to say that they get pulled at exactly the same place.

Oklahoma City. We've managed to contact MH and Pat to tell them where we are. Turns out we've taken a different route to the same place. They're almost here. Got to get some food I think.
Steak. Eggs. Slight sickness. We start to refer to my post steak slowdown as 'meat-lock'. Nothing to do with sleep deprivation then? Climb into back of chase car as the leg three begins.
More later.
