Leg four begins - the final leg to LA - and Pat looks fresh as a daisy. I hate him. We buy jerky and some stickers that read 'Gun control means using both hands' which is now adorning this very computer. Hysteria.

Anyway, MH and Alex in the XKR, me and Pat in the S-Type, we hightail it out of Flagstaff. MH isn't messing about - he's off at serous pace, so I hang back to give ourselves some separation.

Pat here. Wookie has been hauled out of the car and handcuffed. He's currently face down on the patrol car behind me. I've hidden the radar detector, but the cop doesn't look happy. I can't find the camera - and I don't think looking for it is a great idea.

Reality dawns. Just been hauled out of the S-Type and handcuffed for 20 minutes. My wrists are still bearing the marks!

Highway patrolman was not pleased. Said he'd had FIVE '911' calls to report the Jags going ballistic. I'm still a bit shocked. He tried to send me to jail, but the magistrate went off duty a little while ago, so I wouldn't have got out of jail for three days.

I was genuinely scared. Apparently Pat has texted MH ? but they thought it was a joke. I got off with a $250 dollar fine. Caught at 105mph, but I was slowing down. That one's going in the autobiography.

Still shaking. Bit gutted that the cop wasn't on one of those bikes now that I come to think of it. Would have been a bit of a CHiPs moment!

MH texts to say that he's keeping up the required average - I'm too shocked to go fast because I really like my ability to go to America. Pat and I are just going to cruise until we get far enough away to not get locked up by that bloke with the guns.
