Purple haze

Who left the supercar on the radiator? It's melted...

... oh no, it's not melted, it's just the Mitsuoka Orochi.

Looking every bit like a Mercedes CLK that's been caught in some hideous baking accident, this is a limited-run supercar from Japan.

The Mitsuoka firm plans to build 400 of these cars over the next four years. We say they're being a tad optimistic.

The original show car was first seen way back in 2001 and was based on the Honda NSX, so had some serious wallop.

The production car uses a 3.3-litre V6 with 230bhp from the Toyota Camry. Not quite got the same ring to it.

If your eyesight is poor enough not to see the Orochi for the stylistic mess that it truly is, you're probably deranged enough to consider spending £55,000 on buying one.
