Ford your eyes only

It's not quite an Aston Martin DBS, but Ford's new Mondeo has been chosen as Bond's first drive in the upcoming 007 film, Casino Royale.

Daniel Craig's first motoring appearance as the dapper British spy will be behind the wheel of the family favourite, as he drives to a hotel in the Bahamas on the trail of a terrorist cell.

But this is no ordinary Mondeo, 007. Sadly there are no flame-throwers, ejector seats or rocket launchers on show, but it's still a specially built version of the five-door model, with a sports bodykit and tonic blue paintjob.

But what the Mondeo lacks in deadly weaponry it makes up for in good sensible bootspace to stash well-trussed baddies.

You see, that's the problem with these sexy Bond sports cars. It's all very well seducing a ravishing East European undercover agent, but try canoodling on the back seat of a DB5 and you'll end up with chronic backache and scuffed set of brogues.

Trust us, we've tried it. Yelena wasn't impressed.
