Have a guess which top footballer has put in an order for one of these tasteful Gemballa Mirage GTs. We won't be able to tell you the answer - we don't actually know yet - but it's fun to imagine.

All Gemballa has told us so far is that 'a well-known soccer player' has already reserved one of its modified Porsche Carrera GTs. The secrecy is vexing because, let's be honest, you wouldn't buy a gold-flecked, beefed-up GT for the purpose of covert travel. And you're not going to stay anonymous for long driving it around Essex or Chester.

Gemballa is producing just 25 Mirage GTs. Following the standard tuner formula of more power and a bigger aero kit, the Carrera GT's 5.7-litre V10 has been boosted by 40bhp to 652bhp, while torque is up, too. This means it'll hit 62mph in 3.8 seconds - down a tenth on the standard GT.

Aero-mods abound, including extra air intakes on the front spoiler, new side skirts and a downforce-increasing rear skirt. Gemballa says the bodykit drastically improves air flow into the mid-mounted engine - helpful because an 800bhp upgrade is promised in the near future.

Then, of course, there's that beautiful gold-on-black paint job - the personal choice of our anonymous soccer star, but yours too... if you can stump up the 230,000 Euro asking price.

Gemballa believes there are at least 24 other people in the world with such a dangerous blend of bad taste and spare cash, and we reckon they're probably right. It's called the Premier League.
