Ham banned

Lewis Hamilton has had his driving licence suspended after being caught speeding in northern France.

The McLaren driver has been banned for a month after being clocked at 122mph near the town on Laon on Sunday, more than 40mph over the speed limit.

Hamilton's Mercedes was detained and he was fined €600. "He was very polite and cooperative," said a police spokesman.

It has been a busy few weeks for Hamilton. After coming second in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2007 - as well as second in the F1 championship, and second to the Stig around our test track - he found out last week that his McLaren team mate for the 2008 season will be Renault rookie Heikki Kovaleinen.

What are the odds on Heikki getting clocked at 125mph some time this week?
