Ford Focus

Differently the same

Ford unveiled the facelifted Focus - with mini-Mondeo styling - back in Frankfurt, and now we've got a first look at the overhauled ST version.

Due to go on sale in the UK early next year, it's mechanically identical to the current ST, meaning it retains the 2.5-litre five-pot engine developing 222bhp.

There are a few subtle visual differences, though - the ST gets the same creased bonnet as the stock Focus, as well as a remodelled front grille and longer, sleeker headlights. It might not look too different - OK, any different - but Ford says the only body panel carried over from the previous ST is the roof.

Prices remain the same as the outgoing model, while Ford's obviously decided to stick with that orange paint job, too. Well, you can't go changing too much, can you?
