Schoolboy fantasy

OK, OK. We know we should be grown-up and not get excited about daft CGI concepts dreamt up by designers with scant regard for crash zones or real world practicality or any of that stuff.

But just indulge your immature side here and embrace the sheer wowness of this thing. This is the Fireblade, a concept drawn up by South African designer Idries Noah and based on the awesome Corvette ZR1, GM's most powerful car ever.

There are obvious chunks of classic American styling in there - anyone else seeing a bit of Stingray Corvette in the profile? - along with a bucketful of Hot Wheels-inspired primary school notebook doodling.

No, it'll never, ever reach production. But just imagine if it did. Might be enough to tempt us away from the Church of Mustang.
