At Rockingham yesterday, a Honda Civic, a BMW 3-series and a Vauxhall Vectra each took victories. Yep, the British Touring Car championship is as wide open as everâ¦
In Race One, Scotland's Gordon Shedden took victory from pole position in his Team Halfords Civic. Darren Turner drove his diesel Seat Leon to second while double-BTCC champ Matt Neal came third in his Vectra.
Shedden dedicated his victory to fellow Scot and former BTCC driver David Leslie who died in an air crash two weeks ago.
In Race Two, BMW's Mat Jackson took an impressive victory from sixth on the grid. Championship leader Giovanardi finished second in his Vectra while Turner, who led initially, came home third after receiving damage to his left front wheel when he got a rub from Gio.
Race Three was all about Matt Neal. After a delayed start when most of the North Sea fell on the race track, Colin Turkington's BMW built up a lead over Tom Chilton's Team Halfords Honda. But a safety car period closed up the pack, allowing Turkington, Chilton and Jackson to get involved in a scuffle that cost them all a chance of victory.
Matt Neal lurked behind this battle, and then chose his moment carefully to pounce into the lead. He then simply drove away from the chasing pack, setting the fastest lap in the process.
There's just 16 points between first and fourth in the championship, so who knows where the title's going to end up.
