Danica on course for F1?

Fresh from her win at the IndyCar Japan 300 in Motegi, Danica Patrick now might be offered the chance to test drive a Formula One car for Honda.

The F1 team's boss Nick Fry has revealed that Honda would be more than happy for Patrick to test the car currently being campaigned by Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.

It's not impossible - Honda already supplies the engines for the entire range of IRL cars, including Danica's. And she was close to accepting an offer from Honda to test drive its F1 car in 2005, before eventually pulling out.

A more permanent move to F1 might be some time away, though - Danica is adamant that contending for the IRL title is her main goal for now.

However, she hasn't ruled out driving an F1 car for a serious test, and her recent success should be more than enough to silence the old-school doubters who still say girls aren't up to the job in F1.

And, hell, the sport certainly needs more talent. Ahem.
