The Citroen C6 has become the first car ever to receive maximum scores for both crash and pedestrian safety from Euro NCAP.

The European New Car Assessment Programme awarded the C6 the highest ever combined score thanks to superb pedestrian, occupant and child safety results.

The C6's Active Bonnet, which pops up in a head-on collision to create more space between the bonnet and engine to better cushion a pedestrian, contributed greatly to this score.
