Ford fettles Focus

Good news for drivers of the Focus ST - you can now buy Ford-approved tuning upgrades worth around 30bhp over standard.

The Mountune Performance pack costs £1,120 and includes a larger intercooler, a high-flow air filter and some engine management tweaks. That little lot brings the ST's near 225bhp output to somewhere near 260bhp, which is starting to knock on the door of the upcoming RS. A bit.

On the road, that means half a second quicker to 0-60mph (5.9 seconds) and nearly two seconds shaved off 0-100 (14.1 seconds). More Mountune kit is on its way, too - a suspension kit for Focus and then performance packages for other Ford models later in 2008.
