Much as we love the long-term Audi TT, enjoy its incredible transmission, appreciate the smooth power delivery of the V6 engine, marvel at the grip and relax to the soothing sounds of the high-quality Bose stereo, there are a few things that are not quite tickety-boo. One of them being an actual fault in the car. The driver's door has a bit of a seal problem, so there's too much wind noise coming into the cabin at motorway speeds. Maybe that's a legacy of the meeting with the moose, necessitating an extensive front-end re-build. And now there's a little parking dink in the back bumper. Or that part of the car where a convential bumper would have gone had the TT been a conventional car. No-one's owned up to that one, like no-one owned up to kerbing the wheels. Never mind, it still impressed my mates when I turned up in it last weekend. And they all wanted to check out the interior. Even though they must have seen TTs and their cabins loads of times before. That's the thing about a TT, it still grabs you after all these years. Well, me at least.
