The Forester's a top used buy, especially if you can get a full service history. Don't buy one off a farm, though
What to look for
The Forester is a common sight
at the top of used car surveys
and should be a solid secondhand
buy. There are still things to
look for however. Smokey or
excessively whining turbos are on
their way out and will be pricey
to replace. Regular servicing is a
must too, along with vital cambelt changes
every 60,000 miles.
Used Prices
It's well worth picking up a two-year-old Forester with 30,000
miles on the clock and about
£8,000 less on the price tag.
Go for the Turbo in XT trim and
haggle hard. Could be a bargain.
