Bajaj reveals Pulsar 400 and U Car concept
Bajaj Auto has a stunning line-up of models on display at the Auto Expo, starting with the new 375cc Pulsar twins and a new 'U Car' concept that are taking centre stage this year.
The 'U Car' is a striking two-seater concept that's powered by a liquid-cooled, four-valve petrol motor and comes with Bajaj's patented triple-spark fuel injection, teamed with an automatic transmision. This front-wheel-driven concept sports stylish scissor doors and air conditioning, too.
Now everyone and their dog knew a sportier Pulsar was on its way, but no one had anticipated a tourer based on the Pulsar brand. Yes, Bajaj has showcased a new tourer, strangely calling it the Cruising Sports 400, that will join the big Pulsar line-up alongside the Super Sports 400. The CS400 and SS400 will be powered by 375cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected petrol engines with triple spark plug technology. Coupled to a 6-speed transmission, both Pulsars get ABS as standard.
Bajaj has confirmed that while the Pulsar SS400 will be launched later this year, the CS400 will take some time before you can put your money on it. Speaking of money, Bajaj has assured these Pulsar twins will be competitively priced and it should be well in reach of its aspirants. We expect these Pulsars to undercut the KTM 390 Duke, which retails at Rs 2.1 lakh, on-road, Mumbai.
Now that'll make things very interesting, won't it?
