Honda sold more than 5 million two-wheelers in 2017. Just to get things into perspective, Honda has sold more number of two-wheelers in India in one year, than the entire population of Spain. It seems like Honda doesn’t want to stop there; during this year’s Auto Expo it launched the new Activa and a fiery looking version of its CB Hornet, the X-Blade.

Honda has started taking orders for its X-Blade. Powered by a 162.71cc motor which is mated to a five-speed gearbox, the X-Blade will be slightly underpowered than its cousin, CB Hornet (though it shares the same engine). The X-Blade gets LEDs at the front and at the rear, alloy wheels, a dual muffler, gear position indicator, a front disc brake, a hazard light switch and there’s also a service indicator.

The X-Blade will sit on the same diamond frame as the Hornet and will be equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. The X-Blade will take on the TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha FZ-S and its own stablemate CB Hornet.

It’s available in five colours: red, blue, silver, green and black. Honda says that the X-Blade will be cheaper than the CB Hornet. While the CB Hornet attracts a price tag of Rs 87,719 (CBS) (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Honda says that the X-Blade will be priced below Rs 79,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the motorcycle are open at Honda dealerships across the country.
