The commuter 2-wheeler scene is booming. First the Bajaj Discover 125 ST and now this.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its most affordable motorcycle yet. Called the Dream Yuga the bike will feature a 110cc engine developing a respectable 8.5bhp of power. The company is clearing aiming its bike at erstwhile partner Hero Motor Corp with the attractive pricing of Rs 44,642 (ex-showroom Delhi). Honda also claims a fuel economy figure of 72kpl.

Among its chief features is the tubeless tyres/tuff-up tube options, full chain cover and self start along with the option of alloy wheels. The bike is available in five colours and bears a striking resemblance to the Honda's own Shine.

Honda also took this opportunity to showcase its new brand ambassador – Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar, who will be pitted against Suzuki’s ambassador Salman Khan.

In all, it seems Honda is all set to take up the commuter bike segment by storm. What do you think, TopGearheads?
