Most of you will know of the CBR150R parked at the Honda pavilion at the Auto Expo in January. Now, in keeping with its “let’s bombard them with products” strategy, Honda has snuck up on us by launching the CBR150R.

Looks a lot like the CBR250R, doesn’t it? There are a few changes here and there, and we’ll leave it to you to figure them out. What you can’t tell from the photo is that it comes with a liquid-cooled DOHC motor that uses Honda’s PGM-Fi tech to produce 17.6bhp@10,500rpm and 12.66Nm@8500rpm.

With front and rear discs, rear monoshock, digital meters and fat tyres, the CBR150R looks to be well specced-out, though there’s no mention of ABS anywhere. Even so, at Rs 1.16 lakh for the Standard version and Rs 1.17 lakh for the Deluxe version (just paint schemes, we suppose), we quite like the idea of a sporty Honda to take on the likes of the Yamaha R15.
