Harley-Davidson seems keen to kick things up a notch for its operations in India and has started with the appointment of a new Managing Director in Peter MacKenzie.

MacKenzie takes on the role alongside his current role as MD for Greater China and will continue to be based out of Shanghai while India-located support will come from Country Manager Manish Agarwal. MacKenzie's team will be overlooking sales, dealer networks, service, marketing and activities for Harley-Davidson in India and expand the brand's scope in the market.

“India is a strategic market for us in line with our company strategy to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally. I am confident that MacKenzie will provide strong leadership to the team to grow the reach and impact of our brand," said Marc McAllister, vice president and managing director, International Markets.

MacKenzie brings plenty of experience to the table and has been with H-D since 2010, the same year the first H-D dealership opened up in India. The brand currently has 14 models in its line-up here with updates and additions on the horizon while also looking to boost sales of existing ones.
