Piaggio showcases Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and new Vespa scooters
More Italian beauties revealed at the Expo. Of the wheeled variety, of course
If you thought the Vespa was the sexiest scooter in India, you might have to think twice after checking out what Piaggio had on display at their booth at the Auto Expo.
The Vespa S is the next model to debut in the Indian market. Tracing its roots back to the 1970s, the Vespa S plays the retro card well, really well.
The next one on stage was the Vespa 946 that packs in cutting-edge tech with err, a retro touch. It may be a Vespa, but it'll cost almost ten times as much as a regular LX125.
If you think the Vespa range doesn't catch your fancy, then there's the Piaggio Liberty - the one that's fancied all over the world. The number of Libertys on the road is rapidly approaching a million mark. Sure it got to be sexy, then.
If you're done leching at the...scooters, then let us tell you something about Moto Guzzi - Piaggio's cruiser bike brand. They showed us the California 1400 Touring. Apart from showing us the Moto Guzzi, Piaggio didn't tell us anything more about it, or if they're planning to get it here anytime soon.
One more very, very interesting thing that Piaggio showed us was the NT3. And this one, unlike most other unveils at the Expo isn't even close to production. But nevertheless, it looks edgy, and to a certain extent even hot. It is powered by a 230cc or a 350cc petrol engine and also has a 350cc hybrid heart. It has a claimed top speed of 80kph and return up to 33kpl.
A lot of eye candy on the Piaggio stage, no? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
