Rajputana Customs gets their hands on the Ducati Monster 797
The special edition Monster gets various cosmetic upgrades to make it unique
What you are looking at is not just any special edition motorcycle, this is the Monster 797 customised by Rajputana Customs. Ducati had first launched a naked motorcycle with a Monster badge back in 1993 and since then, the Monster range has branched to quite an extent; from 797 to the monstrous 1200 R. To commemorate Monster’s 25th anniversary, Ducati went to Rajputana Customs, and what they have come up with will surely give any standard 797 a run for its money.
Sergi Canovas, MD, Ducati India, said, “Rajputana Customs has done a fabulous job at embodying it (the Monster) with details that are meaningful, giving it a striking look. The Monster 797 in the Rajputana Custom Edizione Speciale looks every bit perfect and serves as the appropriate homage to this iconic motorcycle.”
Mechanically, it remains the same as the standard 797. The 803cc, liquid-cooled, L-twin, motor churns out 75bhp and 69Nm of pulling power. The motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox. The Monster 797 tips the scale at 175kg and sits on a trellis frame. The Monster 797 is equipped with 43mm USD forks from Kayaba up front and pre-load adjustable monoshocks from Sachs at the rear. This is not the first special edition that Ducati has launched, a while back, the Italian bike manufacturer had unveiled the 25° Anniversario edition of the Monster 1200 and you can read all about it here.
