Thought the regular Vespa was not stylish enough? Here's Vespa S
While other manufacturers try to sell you their scooters as a no nonsense, high utility product, Vespa has been carving a niche as a premium player in the over-populated scooter market. Following this trend of appealing to more affluent buyers, Vespa has launched an ‘S’ variant in its line-up. Vespa S joins the earlier launched Vespa LX and VX which have been in the market for close to two years.
Separating the ‘S’ from the lesser variants is the square headlight and mirrors, redesigned speedometer cluster and black alloy combination. The Vespa S rides on the same 125cc, 3 valve engine seen in the earlier variants and makes 10.5bhp and 10.6Nm of torque. The scooter is also loaded with features like disc brakes, tubeless tyres, single piece steel monocoque chassis and is available in 4 colours – matt black, orange, red and white.
Vespa seems to be carrying on with its pricing strategy with the ‘S’ that is priced at Rs 76,500 ex-showroom, Mumbai, which can be considered pretty steep for a scooter with a 125cc motor. Does the style justify the price? Let us know in the comments below.
