Triumph bikes will be back in India. The reason we say 'back' is because the 110 year old motorcycle company was here during the British Raj and were quite popular even back then.

This comes close on the heels of American bike maker Harley-Davidson who has also entered Indian recently. Triumph has appointed ex-Royal Enfield boss Ashish Joshi as its Managing Director for India. Joshi has headed Royal Enfield’s European operations before joining Triumph.

There is no word on the whether the bikes will come as CBUs or be assembled here in India. Though the latter should be the company’s long term strategy as CBU attracts 110 percent duty.

We all have a our special Triumph, which one is yours? Let us know in the comments below.
