It was only a matter of time before this sprung up, wasn't it? The moment Vardenchi announced that it would be partnering Moto Morini in its Indian advent, we knew that the Mumbai-based custom motorcycle builder would've thought up a whole new concept based on one of MM's products. And here it is, the Vardenchi T5.

Vardenchi says it is India's first 'luxury' motorcycle, and that the name T5 comes from Vardenchi's classification nomenclature, so after Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 comes the Type 5 (T5). As is obvious from the trellis frame peeking through in these sketches, the T5 is a Moto Morini underneath, and Vardenchi has given it a completely new, more aggressive look. It will use the same 1187cc V-twin engine that powers the to-be-launched Granpasso and Scrambler. Expect power output to be in the region of 115bhp and 105Nm of torque, channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox, to the Vardenchi-spec 200mm-wide rear tyre.

The T5 will feature Brembo disc brakes front and back, upside-down front forks by Marzocchi, and an Öhlins rear monoshock. Wire-spoke wheels will be offered as an option, or you can have custom-made alloys if retro just isn't your thing.

The finished product will be unveiled at the Auto Expo on the 6th, and that's when we'll have more details for you. For now, feel free to voice your opinion about these sketches...
