2016 Auto Expo: TG's Top 5 Cars

Mahindra XUV Aero Concept

The brilliant XUV Aero stole the show on Day 2 of the Expo. Now, the idea of a coupe-SUV isn’t new. BMW was the first to do it, and the X6 was met with mixed reactions. Now that we've warmed up to the idea, other manufacturers have followed suit. The challenge for Mahindra was to make it look seamless and they have done a fantastic job. The transformation looks seamless and the vehicle still has the sheer presence of an XUV.

Importantly, the new Mahindra Design Studio hasn’t taken the easy way out and presented an over-the-top, unfeasible concept. Instead, it has tried to improvise. In the process, it has also pushed the brand closer to the luxury side of the market with a well thought-out product. The Aero Concept, besides looking the part, is doable. The interior is elegant and has a lot of space for four. It’s futuristic, practical and can be brought to life anytime now. We will be watching the progress of the Aero concept closely. So should you.
