A brief history of Datsun
Then, one fine day in early 1986, Nissan junked the Datsun badge and stuck on the Nissan name onto their cars. People often remark that the reason the Datsun name was debuted first was to reduce the risk of decreasing Nissan’s brand value in case US-plans failed. Why? Because Nissan was heavily in manufacturing military equipment for war efforts against the US of A.
And now, Nissan is bringing Datsun back, in India, with sub-4 lakh offerings. Whatever they say about history and repeating seems to be true, doesn’t it? Just like when it went to America, Datsun now enters a land of potential. And even without seeing the new Datsuns, it appears that things have come a full circle.
