BMW 6 series Gran Coupe: Subtly brutal
The Gran Coupe is positioned as a five-seater, but the condition is that the middle passenger at the rear has to sit astride the tunnel. That is not a problem but for a tiny detail – the tunnel also houses the rear aircon vents, which sort of aim straight for the crotch. BMW says the centre seat is for shorter distances only and I don’t think we should argue on that.
That seat apart, the interior is nearly perfect when it comes to finesse and quality. It’s typically BMW. The front fascia is angled slightly towards the driver, with enough buttons, LEDs and displays to impress a jumbo jet pilot. Typically, BMW has updated most of the software to make sure the car reacts quicker and more reliably.
