BMW 6 series Gran Coupe: Subtly brutal

BMW has started selling the Gran Coupe in India already. The car was recently launched, and retails for an ex-showroom India price of Rs 86.40 lakh. Add the extras and you push it higher. Which will be good news for Mercedes because the CLS costs much less.

Even better news for Audi because the A7 Sportback is even cheaper than the Merc. But for BMW, the battle isn’t lost yet. Because the 6 Gran Coupe has a few aces up its sleeve too. It is quicker and relatively more agile. And more than the bhp and torque numbers, what makes this car special is the way it seamlessly manages four-door sedan practicality without letting go of the original two-door coupe’s character. It’s a science that BMW seems to have perfected. Reassures you that in Munich, as in a few other remaining places in the world, a car isn’t all about the numbers. Yet.
