Cars expected to launch by Diwali 2012
Ford Ecosport
After the Figo, the EcoSport could well be the next big thing for Ford, and also be the vehicle that takes the focus off Maruti's flavour of the season - Ertiga. The fact that it was one of the stars of the Delhi Auto Expo in January this year is a sure sign of things to come. And to keep things exciting, Ford has confirmed that the EcoSport will be under four metres in length, making it eligible for the excise benefit.
The car will have a one-litre turbo-petrol engine that's expected to make about 120bhp. We will believe that when we see it. But it's surely going to be high on refinement and economy. The interiors will be similar to the new-gen Fiesta featuring grey and brushed aluminium finishes. Of course, pricing is the key here and we expect the base version to retail for less than Rs 10 lakh when it arrives by November or December this year.
