Duke vs Impulse vs R15
And that brings us to the end. The R15, in this company, is a blunt knife – it’s lost the edge of the older one. And at a price point so close to the Duke’s, it doesn’t make sense anymore, unless you have to have a fairing between your legs. The Impulse acquits itself honourably, despite being at a considerable disadvantage. Besides being the cheapest bike here, it’s probably the hardiest one too. And of course, there’s something so nice about kick-starting a dirt bike, suspension pump and all...
However, the Duke steals the show here. It offers a fun quotient that is way ahead of its price, making a mockery of its competition while it’s at it. It wants you to grab it by the scruff of its neck and make you think you’re getting your way with it. The ingredients aren’t as exotic, but it’s the same Euro-hooligan concoction that only the finest Austrian druids have mastered – riding it will definitely make you bleed orange. If it doesn’t, you might as well ride a cruiser.
