F1 and the Premier League join forces
Occasionally exciting, often underwhelming F1 team Sauber yesterday unveiled a ‘unique commercial arrangement’ with occasionally exciting, often underwhelming English Premiership club, Chelsea FC.
Little is known about the mechanics of the arrangement other than that it doesn’t appear to include any bank transfers, express or otherwise. Perplexed expert in the field May Dupname told us: “There’s an obvious synergy between the two teams and they’ll both be hoping that this deal will help communicate that to their commercial partners, of which Chelsea have many and Sauber have, er… Can I get back to you on this?”
TopGear can now exclusively reveal that following last night’s ‘Game of the Century’, when a global audience of 500 million — one in ten of the planet’s population — tuned in to watch Man City take one step closer to the Premier League title, other F1 teams have spent the night desperately trying to secure tie-ins for themselves.
