First pics of the refreshed Suzuki Swift leak out
The Maruti Swift never seems to grow old. It's been around our streets for quite a long time, and even after the introduction of the new Swift a while back, it just seems to keep growing in terms of popularity. There could be no apparent reason for Maruti to try and tinker with what is already a success story, which is why even a refresh doesn't seem like it; at least not in the Swift's case, if images that have leaked out through a European Suzuki website are to be believed.
Keen-eyed dotcommers will have noticed the new LED daytime-running lights (DRLs) that adorn the front bumper, and the side indicators that have moved up in life - quite literally - from the front fenders to the ORVMs (changes remind you of the new i20? No, us neither). And that, at least on the outside, rounds off the list of all that's new on the refreshed Swift.
The Swift retains its 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel motors, along with its five-speed manual 'box. Which is A Good Thing. Expect equipment levels to stay the same as seen on the current car, with the possibility of the introduction of new paint schemes, and probably new wheel designs at best.
Maruti hasn't sent out an official word, but we reckon this mildly-updated Swift may find its way onto our roads around Diwali this year. Not much to see here, but if you'd like to look, there's more pictures ahead…
