Hero's pre-Auto Expo madness, unveils five new bikes

The showstopper of the event was definitely the concept bike, code named the RNT. First of its kind, this liquid-cooled turbo-charged diesel concept bike is powered by a 150cc, direct injection unit (with optional turbocharging) developing 13.5bhp and 35Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. This rugged looking utilitarian bike has been conceptualised for agricultural use and will be launched in the international markets prior to ours.

Apart from the diesel unit, key features would be its optional electric motor in the front wheel hub that's powered by a battery pack and offers a unique 2-wheel-drive option for tackling challenging surfaces. And once you are done with 'off-roading' you can easily shut off the rear drive and ride it around town on pure electric power, front wheel drive mode. We told you we saved the best for last!

There is an option to accessorise the RNT with an oversize generator, which along with the diesel motor offer additional power. The RNT is still some time away and it won't be on sale at a showroom near you for at least the next couple of years.

Hero hasn't announced prices or exact launch dates for these models yet. And it also says that the madness doesn't stop here. There are more, interesting products in the pipeline and Hero will be showcasing new products and concepts at the forthcoming Auto Expo.
