In with the OLD - Scrambler Icon vs Street Twin vs 1200 Custom

As with most things in today’s world, niche specialisation has become the way to go with motorcycle manufacturers too. The market is currently flooded with a foray of cruisers, faired sportbikes, naked sportbikes, adventure motorcycles, sport-tourers and a whole lot more. But what if you are not interested in the meanest-looking, blinding-fast, tech-riddled or loudest-snarling motorcycle there is? What if you like the bikes of yore and would rather have a plain, good ol’ fashioned, all-round twin-cylinder motorcycle that you didn’t have to sell a couple of vital organs to own? A bike that looks fantastic and is even better to ride on a daily basis?

Now we chose the neo-retro Ducati Scrambler Icon, the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and the Triumph Street Twin because they fit this bill perfectly. All three are modern interpretations of motorcycles that, although contemporary, remind us of the values of motorcycles from an era long gone, before all this two-wheeled segmentation began. That, and they all cost around Rs 10 lakh.
