Intake: Graduation

The Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore isn’t my favourite track to race at. Not because I’m a picky son of a gun. The aversion is more because I haven’t had enough saddle time there and being a track that needs to be tackled with finesse rather than brute force, saddle time is the difference between a respectable finish and a wash out. All of this is flashing through my mind as the rain came down halfway into my first race of the day.

The weekend itself hadn’t been great and except for our practice outing on Friday, the weather had been very disappointing. It wasn’t hot, but the trade-off was that the rain clouds were hanging around just above our heads, threatening to unleash all their fury onto the tarmac. But that wasn’t the worst part.

The worst part was that just before our first race on Saturday, the rain came down. Hard. So much so, that the race had to be pushed to Sunday. Two races. Both possibly wet. All in a miserably wet day. This wasn’t looking good for us.
