Mahindra Thar: Mud-wrestling
There’s a water pit, followed by a climb, then staggered pits acting as axle twisters. Top priority in my head is the driving line that I decide to take as I follow the trail. One wrong move and I’ll have to reverse all the way down to build the right amount of momentum for a fresh attempt.
Seatbelt fastened and helmet buckled, I go through the water, climbing the small hillock that may have a surprise waiting for me. But this time, I get it right, without having to be winched out. No burnt clutches, no battered ego. After that, the Mahindra guys show us the best way to navigate rivers and rocks without ripping your off-roader’s underside.
