Nissan 360: When in America...

Speaking of future, Nissan and its alliance partner Renault are investing heavily in fully electric cars and the Nissan Leaf is a good example of how it can be done at a mass level. The Leaf runs like any other fossil-fuel-powered city car. If anything, it is quieter on the outside and even handles quite well, as we found out on the twisty little track that Nissan had carved out. The Leaf was well behaved enough not to knock down any of the cones that lined the track, inspiring enough confidence in the car and the technology that it showcases.

Little wonder these cars are finding a following worldwide. It seems only a matter of time before electric cars become a way of life in India. We are already seeing examples of it here. But we are still some years – and government-backed large-scale initiatives – away from emulating our American friends. But when we finally get there, it will be mission accomplished for Nissan.
