Royal Rajasthan in Mahindra XUV500

“I hear people in Mumbai don’t use new cars for more than 10 years” said the the petrol pump attendant, after noticing our Maharashtra number plates. “Actually, it’s considered worth a change in five years,” was my reply, which gave the man a massive dose of culture shock.

It was an interesting point that his innocent question raised. It’s not often that you get to see the latest or the fanciest cars in and around Udaipur, which in turn explains the claustrophobic roads. But before I get to that, a little insight, if I may.

We ventured out in a couple of Mahindra XUV500s that we picked up from Udaipur, and drove all the way to Jaisalmer as part of our Royal Rajasthan travelogue. On the road, we were tweeting and facebooking (somewhere, a grammar Nazi just killed himself) about our adventures and the awe-inspiring sights we witnessed on the way.
