Taking the Suzuki Intruder for a ride

Well, as I thumb the M800’s starter in a city other than mine, I’m not quite sure what to expect from this mass of black and chrome. All I know is I need to fling it across the highway to get to where I belong, while memories of riding the impossibly hulking M1800 cast a massive shadow of anticipation. The twist grip feels lumpy, as if it’s connected not to a throttle body, but a jar of peanut butter. However, cubes rule the world, and even though it’s 1000cc (!) short of the last Intruder I rode, the M800 is eager to leave traffic behind.
