TG Top 5: Fun bikes you can buy for Rs 1 lakh or less

No.5: TVS Apache RTR 160

We know the RTR has been ageing pretty fast, especially with the new crop of budget bikes swarming for your hard-earned money. What still keeps the RTR 160 in the race is the fun element. The bike still feels fun to ride after all these years, thanks to the short wheelbase that make it agile. The engine feels peppy and the exhaust note encourages pushing the bike harder.

What leaves us a bit disappointed with the RTR are the vibrations that creep in when you are closer to the redline. This is when the 1-cyl, 150cc 15bhp motor sounds stressed. The 160 lacks refinement when compared to other bikes in its segment. Timely refreshments like daytime running lights, snazzy paint jobs and fake carbon fibre overlays still manage to keep the looks fresh and buyers interested.
