at Royal Enfield's REunion

Picture this – a pack of hundred-odd Enfields thumping their way down the scenic NH21 to Manali, and among them were a certain number of scarlet-red beauties darting their way through the pack. That's what the scene was like when we recently got a chance to join the convoy heading to the Royal Enfield REunion in Manali.

We’re all aware of the great cruising capabilities of the older Enfields. Hence, we chose to take the Continental GT for this tour to know how does the café racer like the flatlands, patchy surfaces and winding roads of the mighty Himalayas. With those minimalistic looks, the elongated tank, clip-on handlebars and that retro appeal, the GT is definitely a show-stealer. The bike I got was fitted with a loud performance exhaust and a single seat, which is an optional extra. Moments after picking up the bike, my wrist made me realise that it’s going to be a fun, if slightly tiresome journey to Manali.
