This is the new Nissan Micra!

A cute-looking city hatch is something everybody loves. Just don’t make it too cute, or it might just be labelled ‘girlie’. Nissan knows this better than any other manufacturer in India. Case in point is the Nissan Micra, the little hatch that just was just a bit too cute-looking for its own good. So what you see here is a refreshed version of the Micra (inside and out), or as Nissan would like to call it, the all-new Micra.

The overall design stays the same, as is the case with most refreshes. Nissan has gone ahead and redesigned the headlight to look like an arrow, which adds that much-needed aggression. Plus, the muscular bumper and horseshoe-shaped grille give the previously cute-little-hatch an ‘angry bull’ effect.

From the side, things are largely unchanged, barring the new alloy design. The taillight cluster now gets the LED treatment, while the rear bumper is fiddled with as well.

Inside, the dashboard gets an all-black treatment (woohoo!), while the circular AC vents have been ditched for rectangular ones. Nissan has given a piano-black finish to the centre console to add a dash of sportiness. The feature list will be similar to the current car, with parking sensors, keyless entry and front airbags coming as standard on the top-end variant.

Engines will be carried over from the current generation car to keep costs in check, but expect a few tweaks to make it peppier. As the Nissan Micra is being assembled in India, we expect it to be launched by mid-June.
