It accelerates with a fair amount of enthusiasm, although less grippy surfaces will only see the driven wheel spinning away, wasting precious charge. It’s easy enough to get the hang of, though, and 10 minutes with it will have you riding/driving it like a champ... at least that’s what I thought of myself. The inner leg takes almost all your body weight in a corner, so yes, riding a Trikke can be a workout if you ride it hard and long enough. I was sore for the rest of the day, although I’m probably not the poster boy for an active lifestyle.
Shopping bags don’t slow it down any and it’s rather good fun playing chicken with startled mall-goers. Good thing it stops well too. In fact, with a little practice, it’s rather easy to pull off tail-out stops too. It’s almost impossible to ride this thing calmly because the Trikke seems to be out to have fun at any cost.
