Chevrolet India has kickstarted promotional activities of its soon-to-be-launched Sail sedan by publishing an official image of the new car on its website.
As seen from the profile photo published here, the sedan shares a lot of styling cues with the Sail U-VA. Based on the same platform as the hatchback, the Sail sedan looks identical up to the B-pillar. It’s only at the C-pillar that the roof starts to taper downward, blending well with the boot section.
Interior details aren’t clear as of now, but expect the sedan to sport features like ABS, airbags, collapsible steering column, a new design alloy wheel and Bluetooth integrated audio system. On the mechanical front, Chevrolet will carry forward the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel motors from the Sail hatchback.
Like all other Chevrolet models in India, the Sail sedan will be offered with a 3-year/1,00,000km warranty as standard. When the new sedan hits the showrooms by mid-2013, it will compete with the likes of the Maruti Swift Dzire, Mahindra Verito, Toyota Etios and Tata Manza.
