Yes, we know it's just an image of half a grille, and it doesn’t give away much. But that’s what has been ‘officially revealed’ by the American carmaker, a week before the 2014 Camaro SS makes its first public appearance at the New York International Auto Show.

The solo image reveals a slightly revised fascia sporting a much slender and cleaner front grille with additional silver highlights. And then there is the famed ‘SS’ badge in red, which is a carryover from the previous model. Chevrolet promises the new car will have some of the biggest changes since the incarnation of the fifth generation muscle car. So we are expecting the 2014 Camaro SS to sport redesigned bumpers, modified headlamps and updated interiors.

We haven’t got any concrete dope on the mechanical bits, but its likely that the new model will get updated motors in addition to the new 7.0-litre LS7 V8 and the twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6 motors.

The new Camaro will be joined by the new Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet SS performance sedan, completing the line of Chevy’s new performance vehicles for 2014.

We shall keep you’ll posted with the latest on the muscle car.
