Chevrolet has launched the updated Cruze and all of us at TopGear can’t wait to get our hands on it. The new car has kept most of its winning formula intact. So yes, the styling remains exactly the same, with those aggressive looking headlamps and the big 300 grille.

The 2.0-litre, 148bhp was fast to begin with, but trust a true blue American company to keep increasing ponies with every update. The new Cruze gets the same 2.0-litre engine but it is now tweaked to put out 164bhp and 380Nm of torque. To handle all that power there is a new 6-speed manual though the automatic is a carry over.

On the inside, standard features include keyless entry, start/stop button and electronically adjustable driver seat on all variants. On the LTZ variant other goodies include, Bluetooth audio, electric sunroof, leather upholstery, foldable and heated ORVM, rear-parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control on steering wheel and anti-glare rear view mirror.

The base LT manual variant now comes at Rs 14.53 lakh while the top-of-the-line LTZ manual variant is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh and the LTZ automatic at Rs 16.44 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The Cruze was launched in Delhi earlier in the week at ex-showroom, Delhi prices of Rs 13.85 lakh for the LT manual, Rs 14.77 lakh for the LTZ manual and Rs 15.67 lakh for the LTZ automatic.
