Chevrolet's entry-level sedan sails in
All-new entry-level sedan from Chevy to take on Swift DZire
Chevrolet has announced the launch of its entry-level sedan, the Sail. Prices for the Sail start at Rs 4.99 lakh for the base petrol and Rs 6.29 lakh for the base diesel.
The car is available in four variants – Base, LS, LS ABS and LT ABS. The car shares both its engines with the Sail U-VA hatchback. Chevy claims 22.1kpl for the diesel and 18.2kpl for the petrol. Chevy's move to launch the car ahead of the Enjoy MPV is a pre-emptive move to counter the soon-to-be-launched Honda Amaze, which many believe will shake up this segment.
Though at these prices, the Chevy isn't terrific value it does have a larger boot (370 litres as compared to the DZire's 320 litres). But the Chevy is around Rs 30,000 more than the DZire simply because the Sail doesn't fall under the 4-metre length mandatory for excise benefits. Chevy does boasts of an extensive aftersales package. You get 5-year warranty in engine and transmission along with 3-year vehicle warranty.
Here's a complete ex-showroom, Delhi price list:
Petrol: Base - Rs 4.99 lakh, LS - Rs 5.49 lakh, LS ABS - Rs 5.70 lakh, LT ABS - Rs 6.41 lakh
Diesel: Base - Rs 6.29 lakh, LS - Rs 6.59 lakh, LS ABS - Rs 6.80 lakh, LT ABS - Rs 7.51 lakh
