First pics: five-door Volkswagen Up
Our 2011 Small Car of the Year gets an extra set of doors for 2012
Volkswagen has released the first pictures of the five-door version of its Up city car, set for a release later this year.

Dimensions, trim levels and engines remain the same as the three-door Up, and although UK prices have yet to be announced, it carries a Rs 30,000 premium over its sibling in Germany, where it will launch in March. The five-door version will be available all over Europe by early summer.
It's a good ‘un, the Up. As we pointed out in our huge Awards issue last year, to call it a smaller Golf is to do it a huge disservice. It's fantastically packaged, boasts plenty of passenger space and weighs less than a tonne: it's the cleverest small car around today.
But which one would you buy?
