Honda Brio gets new variants
And a rear defogger. And a height-adjustable driver's seat. Power to the customer!
We really like the Honda Brio. It is a sweet little package, but to be honest, we thought it could be made even better with the addition of a rear defogger. Customers too yearned for the same, it seems, and asked Honda to offer a height-adjustable driver's seat along with it. Not the one to let customer feedback fall on deaf ears, Honda has quickly rolled out new variants of the Brio.
Replacing the S (O) MT/AT and V AT trims, the new EX MT and VX AT carry all the features that were offered on the variants that they replace, but now, leaving aside the base E MT and EX MT versions, you get a rear defogger and height-adjustable driver's seat as standard across the range. However, you can no longer opt for safety equipment on the S variant, and the standard ABS and airbags on the V trim have now been discontinued as well. Also, the automatic gearbox is now only available on the new VX variant.
At the announcement, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The Brio is a significant model for Honda in India as the car added more than 32,000 happy customers in the last fiscal year. We are pleased to announce upgrades to the Brio with added comfort and convenience in its segment which will appeal to the customers.”
The base variant, the E MT has been priced at Rs 4.12 lakh, the EX MT at Rs 4.28 lakh, the S MT at Rs 4.60 lakh, the V MT at Rs 5.06 lakh, the VX MT at Rs 5.34 lakh and the range-topping VX AT at Rs 6.12 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
