Hyundai launches Verna Anniversary Edition
The special edition sedan is limited to just 1000 units and will be available only in the SX (O) trim
Last year, Hyundai had launched the all-new Verna and to commemorate its first anniversary, the carmaker has launched a special edition – or rather a limited edition – of the sedan. The anniversary edition is available only in the top-end SX (O) trim and there are only 1000 units available. The special edition will be available in two paint schemes – white and blue.
The special edition has received some cosmetic changes to separate it from the regular versions. The special edition gets skid plate up front and at the rear, black ORVMs, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna and a host of anniversary edition logos. On the inside, it gets contrasting blue stitching on the seats and blue accents on the AC vents. As the special edition is available only in the top-spec SX (O) trim, it gets all the creature comforts. It is equipped with LED DRLs, a seven-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto link, ventilated seats and an electric sunroof. This special edition is also equipped with a wireless phone charger.
The anniversary edition will be available with two engine options – a 1.6-litre petrol (121bhp) and a 1.6-litre diesel (126bhp). While the oil-burner is equipped only with a six-speed manual gearbox, the petrol variant will be available with both transmission options – manual as well as automatic.
In its fifth generation, Hyundai has armed the Verna with a lot of safety features. Features such as airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt with pre-tensioner and ISOFIX are standard across the variant.
The Verna rivals the Honda City, the Toyota Yaris and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
